What began as a simple text on December 3rd, 2023 quickly turned into something neither of us expected. Three days later, we met for the first time—Josh sleepily trying to cancel, not prepared to meet the stunning woman who walked through the door. One smile from Shannon, and a playful “it’s okay old man, go have some warm milk,” (the first encounter of Shannon's teasing manner of showing affection) and suddenly he was wide awake and very aware he was in trouble—the good kind.

What was supposed to be a quick drink on a school night became a conversation until 3 a.m, the kind you only have when time disappears because you’ve found someone who makes hours feel like minutes. Our early moments were a mix of deep talks, endless laughter, and one extremely awkward first kiss—so awkward it still makes us laugh today. But even then, there was something different, something real.

As we grew together, we found balance in our differences. One of us is competitive and sporty; the other would happily enjoy a good book or get lost in reels at the same event. But our hearts aligned around the things that mattered: travel, adventure, good food, coffee shops, and experiencing new places side‑by‑side. More than anything, we found joy in simply being together—talking until restaurants close, laughing, and building memories we’ll hold onto forever.

The proposal, like so much of our relationship, didn’t go exactly according to plan. A perfect lookout tower in Quebec suddenly felt too risky—what if the ring fell? Plan B didn’t exist. But wandering through Québec City, we stumbled into the Château Frontenac and found ourselves squeezed into a place we never imagined we’d be in, let alone together. And in that unexpected moment—our theme—Josh knew it was time. With shaking hands, a waiter to capture the moment, and a brief mix‑up with which hand the ring goes on, we created a memory that will live with us forever.

Today, we’re a team built on laughter, love, travel, late-night talks, and that undeniable spark from the moment we met. This is our story—and the beginning of the next beautiful chapter.
